Wakefield Baptist Church Leadership
Wakefield Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will.
Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Rev Dr. Clay Berry
Senior Pastor
Clay has served as pastor at Wakefield Baptist Church since 1996. Before that he served the Pulaski Baptist Church in Pulaski, New York for six years. He is originally from Durham, N.C.
Providing spiritual nurture and emotional care for the congregation lies at the heart of his ministry as he seeks to enable participants to realize a more dynamic, living faith as they pursue their calling in Christ. His priorities for ministry include: planning and leadership of formational worship, biblical Christ-centered preaching, individual spiritual direction and formation, teaching and interpreting the Scriptures, pastoral care, leadership envisioning, developing the ministry of the laity.
Clay earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities from Warren Wilson College near Asheville, N.C., a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest. N.C., and a Doctorate in Worship Studies through the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies in Jacksonville, FL. His theses examined the relationships between worship, spirituality, and healing.
Clay has been happily married to Beth for 40 years and they have two grown sons, Christopher and Benjamin.

Catherine Holloway
Minister of Music
"I will sing to the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being" Psalm 104:33
Wakefield Baptist Church is blessed with a dedicated, talented choir who sings praises and bears witness to our Lord through music. I feel privileged to direct this group of musicians as we minister to our congregation and ourselves while worshiping the Lord in song.
We welcome ALL who love to sing to join our choir and become a part of this Music Ministry.
